founded coutonic, a slow‑fashion brand selling screen‑printed totes, plant‑based scrunchies, one‑of‑a‑kind vintage pieces, and the coutonic style box. i led product development, photography, social content, and the full website, aiming to educate on slow fashion and deliver a streamlined, engaging eco‑conscious styling experience.

i designed and built the entire shopify site, shot photography and video for all product and social content, and developed one of my favorite digital experiences, the coutonic style box, a personalized outfit styling service for eco-conscious people. for this custom shopify product, i designed the ux/ui and built an automated multi-email response flow, including a redemption code to complete the style quiz and follow-up tracking emails. the style box page supported gifting which included the ability to add a personal message, schedule delivery, and send redemption details to the recipient. there were many moving parts, and i loved the challenge of creating a seamless, exciting styling experience that customers were stoked to use and gift.

stylebox became a unique shopping experience. the product’s detailed descriptions and smooth ordering flow improved customer’s trust which led to repeat purchases. running the business end to end sharpened my e-commerce strategy and product ux skills, and while i'm not currently working on coutonic anymore, i'm proud of the brand and website i built, the depth of knowledge i've gained from about 9 years working with shopify, and the development skills i honed building the style box experience and its automated flows.

mostly solo: i was founder, designer, photographer, social media coordinator, and developer; my husband offered occasional backend support and was always there to cheer me on.
coutonic website
the site was designed to spark immediate interest with an engaging hero image and new‑product carousels. customers could click any item to see how it was made, with suggested products at the end of each page to encourage exploration. products were organized by category with filters for availability and price, and multiple payment options were integrated for a smooth checkout.
coutonic style box
style box is my personalized outfit service that pairs people with curated, eco‑conscious looks via a quick style quiz. customers can buy or gift a stylebox and schedule when the recipient gets notified; the recipient receives a redemption code and simply enters it when filling out the quiz to redeem their style box and get a hand‑picked outfit of vintage, secondhand, handmade, or plant‑based pieces. it’s designed to feel fun, effortless, and giftable without breaking the bank or harming the planet.
